Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop

"Thanksgiving is a day when we pause to give thanks for the things we have. Memorial Day is a day when we pause to give thanks to the people who have fought for the things we have."

In my small way I try everyday to Thank those that serve our country, and on Memorial day I try to remember those brave men and women. Operation Write Home is an amazing organization that collects handmade cards to send to are armed forces serving over seas. Cards from all over are gathered, box and sent off to various posts all over the world. There the men and women that serve in our military are able to choose a card (or two) to write home in. Can you imagine getting a personal note from a loved one sent from across the world wrapped up in a little bit of hand made love? I do remember when my son was sending care packages to Afghanistan and Iraq when one day we received a postcard made of a cardboard box scrap. The officer thanked my son for his packages and then apologized for writing him on a scrap because that was all that they had left to write on. Immediately my son went to work collecting and saving every cent he could to ship them legal pads and pens so that they could write home on something more than scrap. A few years later I came across this amazing blog filled with amazing artwork. As I read on I realized that this blog wasn't really about card making it was about our Soldiers. Operation Write Home's Blog is chalked full with amazing artwork, great tutorials, and sprinkled with stories that will warm you heart!

Now Down to the business.............

Here is the sketch I choose to use for the Blog Hop:

OWH has over 100 different sketches to choose from! When I choose this one I could not get the patriotic theme out of my head so here is my card for the Hero in my life...

And some foam tape!

A sprinkle of Red (Tulip), White (Daisy), and Blue (Pacifica) and a ton of love!!! This one and it's sisters and brothers are being added to the box getting ready to make it's way to OWH. I hope you enjoyed the Card and if you loved the products used please check out my post from yesterday HERE for some great deals, and bit of donating. Thanks for stopping by!
